Dan buat yang belon tau, ya, gue rasa gue juga programmer.
So, apa enak dan gak enaknya kerja jadi programmer?
hmmm....gue cerita enaknya dulu, kali ya?
1. Penuh tantangan. Buat yang ngerasa mudah bosen dengan pekerjaannya, programmer mungkin bisa dijadikan pekerjaan. Proyeknya bervariasi dari yang super mudah sampai yang super sulit.
2. Lowongan banyak & Gaji variatif. Lowongan untuk programmer SANGAT banyak dengan gaji yang bervariasi. Lo bisa pilih sesuka hati, Gue milih sebuah pekerjaan yang utama adalah jarak tempuh dari rumah ke kantor. ^_^; (Bukan berarti jenjang karir & gaji gak penting loh) Gue mikirnya, kalo kantor terlalu jauh nanti waktu dan tenaga gue habis cuma buat dijalan. Kerja gak maksimal, istirahat gak maksimal, main juga gak maksimal. Jakarta, gitu loch! Macet!
3. Santai! Pengalaman gue alat yang musti dibawa programmer ke kantor cuma otaknya aja. (Ya, iya lah!). Jadi kebanyakan kerjanya santai. Berangkat kekantor cuma pake sandal, jeans, kaos. Yang membatasi cuma peraturan kantor aja... Jangan sampai dicegat satpam didepan gedung, gara-gara dikira pengemis... hihihi... Kalo gue, kekantor tetep "seragam" kantor (kemeja, celana bahan & sepatu), tapi gue sama sekali gak bawa apa-apa, cuma bawa dompet, handphone & pulpen. dompet buat bayar "sesuatu", handphone buat menghubungi/dihubungi "seseorang" dan pulpen buat analisa system/teken kontrak/menggambar.. ^o^
OIA, gue sampe kantor LANGSUNG ganti sandal jepit...
4. Buat yang suka bersosialisasi/ketemu orang-orang. Programmer juga gak selalu cuma duduk bikin program. Kadang programmer dituntut untuk ketemu client untuk ngomongin aplikasi yang diinginkan. Dan biasanya koneksinya bertambah, sebab kadang ketemunya langsung sama bos-bos/orang yang jabatannya tinggi.
5. Kepuasan Ruarrrr Biasa! Kalo proyek lo selesai dan berhasil, pasti ada kepuasan batin tersendiri. Sama kayak pelukis yang merasa puas atas karyanya. Buat gue, bikin program itu adalah seni. Proyek sama, modul sama, fungsi sama tapi caranya bisa beda-beda. Menentukan mana yang paling tepat/efisien, disitulah letak seninya. Trus nanti lo bisa nyombong, "eh, perusahaan itu gue yang bikin loh softwarenya!"
Sekarang kita ngomongin gak enaknya...
1. Pusing Berat! Kalo mentok pas bikin program, bisa bikin frustasi! Temen gue sampe berasap kepalanya pas diguyur air (eh, bukan asap, tapi uap). Gue juga kalo lagi mikir keras, kepalanya kayak overheat (panas) trus urat kepala deket kening dan urat di tengkuk pada keluar. Satu-satunya cara biar gak begitu harus istirahat/tidur. Tapi masalahnya kadang gak bisa tidur kalo belon ketemu pemecahan masalahnya... Jadi dah kayak lingkaran setan aja...
2. Fisik dan mental harus kuat! Kita harus tahan duduk didepan komputer no-stop selama paling tidak 9 jam. Belum lagi kalo mepet deadline, bisa 12 jam nongkrong didepan komputer. Mau gak mau mata kudu tahan pedesnya sinar monitor. Trus punggung pegelnya setengah mati.
Kalo soal mental, kudu siap diomelin sama client, "Ini programnya kok gini!". Atau ternyata program yang dibuat ada errornya, trus klient bilang "Cih! Progam apaan nih!". Wah, pokoknya bener-bener kudu kuat deh..
3. Harus pandai berkomunikasi! Ini penting neh. Susah banget kalo ngomong sama orang yang beda pemikirannya. Banyak klien yang ngomongnya suka seenaknya aja, "pokoknya gampang kok, ini masuk sini trus pake rumus ini trus gini trus diprint jadi..". Damn! Gak segampang itu! Kita musti jelasin pelan-pelan sistemnya harus gini..harus gitu.. Dan kita juga harus paham apa yang diomongin si klien... Ini yang paling lama dan penting kalo analisa program..
4. Waktu! Waktu lo akan sangat banyak terbuang di depan komputer... kehidupan sosial lo mungkin akan terganggu kalo kebetulan proyek lo agak berat/rumit/kompleks.. Jadi buat yang punya pacar programmer, maklum aja kalo tiba-tiba pacar lo gak telpon selama beberapa hari... Soalnya bikin program bener-bener nguras perhatian, tenaga & waktu.. Kalo gue pribadi, kadang-kadang suka gitu, perhatiannya teralihkan terutama kalo ada error di programnya..
Yah, pokoknya gitulah jadi programmer...
nah, apakah lo mau jadi programmer..???
Atau mau punya pacar seorang programmer..???
Tergantung bagaimana anda menyikapinya...
